President Barrow Approved Appointment Of Three New High Court Judges

His Excellency, President Adama Barrow of the Republic of The Gambia, has approved the appointment of three new judges to the High Court. The newly appointed judges are Mr. Omar Cham, who currently serves as the Master of the High Court; Ms. Yakarr H. Cox, a Principal State Counsel at the Ministry of Justice; and Mr. Omar Suso, a Senior Legal Officer and Deputy Executive Secretary at the National Agency for Legal Aid (NALA).
The Office of The Chief Justice announced that President Barrow approved these appointments under Section 138(2) of the Constitution, following the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission.
“His Lordship the Hon. Chief Justice is pleased to announce that the President of the Republic, His Excellency Adama Barrow acting under Section 138 (2) of the Constitution and pursuant to the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission has approved the appointment of three Gambians as Judges of the High Court of The Gambia,” Office of The Chief Justice announced.These appointments, set to take effect in October 2024, are intended to enhance the capacity of the High Court.
“The Judiciary looks forward to the assumption of office of the new judges and wishes them a successful tenure,” the Office of The Chief Justice concluded.
