Kerr Fatou Media has received credible information that Ramzia Diab, a prominent member of the United Democratic Party (UDP), has officially parted ways with the party to join President Adama Barrow’s National People’s Party (NPP).
Sources within the UDP revealed that Diab was allegedly offered a job in Malaysia, although this claim remains unconfirmed. What is certain, however, is that key NPP figures, including Demba Sabally and Seedy Ceesay from the party’s administrative sector, played pivotal roles in facilitating her departure from the UDP. According to our sources, Ramzia Diab met with President Barrow earlier this morning to finalize her decision.
When contacted, Seedy Ceesay confirmed the meeting between Diab and President Barrow, stating, “She has come to join and support President Barrow’s development agenda.”
This move is seen as a significant shift in The Gambia’s political landscape, as Diab has been a notable figure within the UDP. More updates to follow as this story develops.
