The United Democratic Party has expelled 8 National Assembly members who are accused of loyalty to President Adama Barrow against the interest of their party.
They are Fatoumatta Jawara, Alagie Jawara, Billay Tunkara, Abdoulie Ceesay, Saikouba Jarju, Saikou Marong, Baba Galleh Jallow and Omar Darboe.
A source who does not want to be named told Kerr Fatou that the 8 lawmakers were expelled from the party because of their manifested loyalty to Barrow.
Barrow was a member of the UDP who fell out with the party after becoming the President. Kerr Fatou has learned that the party is due to issue a statement on the matter today.
Meanwhile, the UDP lawmaker representing Busumbala constituency has confirmed to Kerr Fatou that he has received his expulsion letter earlier today.
