DOKU GROUP Demands Public Apology From Both NAWEC And GAMTEL
By Buba Gagigo
Doku Group has, in a statement shared with Kerr Fatou, demanded a public apology from both the National Water and Electricity Company (NAWEC) and GAMTEL after GAMTEL accused them of cutting their fiber cables in Brufut.
GAMTEL in a statement through their Facebook page, said, “Fiber cable cut, and then again. It happened back-to-back within weeks between the Gamtel-Brufut junction going into Brufut Ghana town. A very disruptive and costly damage was caused by a NAWEC water subcontractor called DOKU. A – 2 x 48-core cable tubes that connect a multitude of customers completely rendered off service.”
On Sunday, NAWEC refuted any association with Doku Group and insisted on a public apology from GAMTEL. Following NAWEC’s declaration, DOKU GROUP released a statement rejecting accusations of cutting GAMTEL fiber cables in Brufut and calling for public apologies from both companies.
“The cable that they said is cut is nowhere near the trench excavated by DOKU. Please contact the main contractor, PAVI FORT, for any further verification on this matter. DOKU GROUP have reached out to both NAWEC and GAMTEL asking them to publicly apologize and to rectify their incorrect statements accusing DOKU GROUP of cable damages that they have not caused, but to no avail,” they said on Monday.
