Breaking News: KMC Sacked 24 Staff For Lack of Punctuality
By Buba Gagigo
The Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) has fired twenty-four employees from Mbalit due to tardiness, according to Pa Ceesay, the KMC’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
“We sacked twenty-four Mbalit staff. They are daily-wage staff, not permanent staff. They were sacked because of lack of punctuality. For the Mbalit we are facing so many problems now because we are dumping all the way to Brikama, so if we don’t take steps, we will have problems because what we are spending on Mbalit financially is too much. So we are not taking it lightly, and we are not going to compromise with anything that will delay our program. They were not punctual, and that’s why they were sacked,” the CEO told Kerr Fatou on Thursday.
The CEO has also confirmed that all the twenty-four Mbalit staff that were sacked have already been replaced with others.
