OUR SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO THE LOSS OF TWO OFFICERS

The Gambia Democratic Congress leadership joined Gambians to express our deepest condolences to the families of the two Paramilitary Officers that were shot on Tuesday 12th September, 2023 around Jabang-Sukuta Highway. These officers died in the line of duty and it is shocking and very worrying that their lives were taken in the most heartless way.

This incident has been marked with great regret and its news has been received with great sadness. The killing of these two Police officers cannot be justified while the other officer is battling with her life at Ndemban Clinic.

The Gambia Democratic Congress strongly condemned this cowardly and criminal act which left everyone in a very desperate situation. The peace and tranquility that The Gambia is ever known for should not be compromised by outlaws. Our security forces are here to protect our lives and properties and nothing should hinder or threaten their work or lives.

The deaths of these two officers are a tragic loss to this nation and the circumstances of their deaths were horrible. We appreciated your services, passion for the job and your selfless efforts to this nation up to the time of your death.

We would like to express our heartfelt and sincere condolences to the Inspector General of Police, The President of the Republic of The Gambia, the deceased families over these unfortunate losses.

As the rise in crime continues to take its strongest shape in this country, it is becoming more of a concern for all citizens and non-citizens residing in this country to be on alert and jointly work with the security force to reduce it.

We offer our sincere prayers for the deceased to be granted Jannatul Firdawsi and pray for the injured officer for a speedy and full recovery.

Hon. Mamma Kandeh
(GDC Party Leader and Secretary General).
