The Brikama Area Council (BAC) announced on its official Facebook page that Chairman Yankuba Darboe has inducted 26 young people as voluntary compliance enforcers for the daily market fee (duty) collections.
According to the statement, the inductees will accompany the market duty collectors on their daily rounds to monitor for effective collection and deposit of market dues.
“These young people will daily accompany our market collectors in the execution of their daily functions (duty collection) to serve as monitors in ensuring effective collection and lodging of collected revenue,” they said.
The Council says that the initiative is premised on the desire to maximize their revenue by building a proactive and responsive institution.
