The Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly of the Gambia announced on Tuesday that members of the legislature will embark on a month-long recess, effective Tuesday, August 1, 2023, to Thursday, August 31, 2023.
“The Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly wishes to announce for the information of the public that Honourable Members of the National Assembly will proceed on Recess, effective Tuesday 01st August 2023 to Thursday 31st August 2023,” the office of the clerk announced.
The Clerk’s office went on to say that all business and activities of the National Assembly, including plenary and committee sessions, will be suspended during the recess period. This will allow members of the National Assembly to proceed on vacation.
“All Ministries, Departments, Agencies, Partners, and the General Public are
hereby informed that the National Assembly will be on a month Recess, effective Tuesday 01st August 2023, and normal business resumes from Friday 01st September 2023.
Accordingly, the Office of the Clerk shall not consider any official engagement with NAMs during the said period. While wishing all National Assembly Members a happy vacation, the cooperation and understanding of all and sundry are solicited,” they concluded.
