The Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly announced today that all committee meetings and sessions of the Parliament will be suspended effective May 1, 2023, until further notice.
The suspension of committee meetings is due to the fact that many National Assembly Members (NAMs) are scheduled to travel to the People’s Republic of China on a capacity building training. In addition, some NAMs are also traveling to attend the statutory meetings of the Pan African Parliament and ECOWAS Parliament.
“Furthermore, the Office of the Clerk wishes to indicate that the suspension of Committee operation for the month of May does not in any way affect other businesses of the Assembly. The plenary session shall resume in June 2023 for the consideration of important State matters,” the statement concluded.
