“As it was alluded to by His Excellency Adama Barrow, given the importance and trust he attaches to the welfare of serving military, deem it fit and proper to extend a call to Gambians irrespective of your occupation. Individual and collective ways to perhaps make modest contributions towards the living works and conditions of the service members of the military”
“In every given circumstance that the government cannot do it alone, more so in the context of the Gambia, which is no doubt economic. It is not out of context perhaps to ask individuals or institutions to perhaps contribute towards the living and working conditions of the serving members of the Military,” CDS Drammeh stated.
CDS Drammeh further described the items presented to them as a positive response from the Social Security and Housing Finance Cooperation.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Minister of Defence, Seringe Modou Njie, thanked the Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation for taking the lead in responding and answering the call of the President.
“I understand this is part of your Corporate social responsibilities. But many other companies could have done it, but we are also waiting for them to do the same. But you as an agency taking the lead to support this magnificent gesture is laudable,” he said.
The Defence Minister assured Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation that the items will go a long way in improving their living conditions.
