Hon. Abdoulie Njai, 26, Member of Parliament, Banjul Central has received an African Icon Award from Youth Network for Positive Change

The award is in recognition of Hon. Njai’s selfless devotion, contribution, consistent dedication to humanity, but also having the courage to defy all odds in making sure youth have a voice in the decision making table through discipline, hard work and focus.

I would like to thank all of you who believed in me and joined me in this unforgettable journey, most especially Team Andandorr.  You have been standing side by side with me in all my endeavours. This is a true definition of ripple effect that can be generated when youngsters help one another.

“I am expressing my heartfelt delight to all that enabled me to achieve this goal. I consider myself lucky to have received this award from The Youth Network for Positive Change who are changing lives by the day. I hope to continue doing my best in the future to stand for young people and Africa as a continent.

“This accomplishment is a significant milestone in my life. I extend special gratitude to my parents, the people of Banjul Central Constituency, (and) my comrades for giving me the opportunity to serve them in this capacity as a young person.

“An unbounded gratitude to The Gambia National Assembly for supporting me in my journey. It is an incredible moment for me. I am almost incapable of finding the right words to convey my appreciation to all of you,” Njai said in reaction to the development in a statement shared with this medium.
