In the Senegalese parliamentary election both coalition ‘Benno Benno Bokk Yakaar’, which President Macky Sall is party of, and main opposition coalition ‘Yewwi Askan Wi’ have claimed majority in parliament ahead of the official announcement by the country’s electoral body.

After the election on Sunday night, Mimi Madame Aminata Touré, representative of Benno Benno Bokk Yakaar coalition at a press conference claimed her coalition won in 30 of the 46 departments, including Tivaouane, Goudomp and North Africa.

In a counter press conference by the opposition on Monday, Dethié Fall, a representative of the opposition coalition said the opposition will have at least 83 deputies out of the 165.

The representative of Yewwi-Wallu explained how the inter-coaltion intends to have a majority in the National Assembly.

He thus listed 17 departments on the Senegalese territory and 6 regions at the level of the diaspora, areas which, according to him, have fallen into their hands.

The leader of the PRP declared that those departments represent no less than 55% of the electoral roll, according to an article by Seneweb.

However, the official election results are yet to be announced in Senegal.
