The Championships are scheduled to run from 15th – 24th July in Oregon in the United States of America (USA).
The multiple Gambian goal medalist recently set a new continental record in the just concluded African Championships in Mauritius.
“With her recent continental record with 11:06 (seconds) gold winning time in 100m at the African Seniors in Mauritius. Gambia’s Gina Bass is going to the World Athletics Championships in Oregon, USA next month (July 15th – 24th 2022),” the Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) said in a statement on Facebook on Monday.
The continent’s fastest female sprinter took part in the 200m race in the 2019 Doha championships and finished sixth.
She also finished 2nd in the 100m event at the 12th edition of the Montreuil Meeting in France, behind the Ivorian, Marie Jose Talou, whom she defeated in 2019 in the 200m event at the 12th African Games in Rabat; among others.
