SoSHSA Week Commences At UTG Brikama Campus

The University of the Gambia Social Sciences and Humanities Students’ Association (SoSHSA) earlier today commenced its annual student week.
The ceremony organised by the 17th SoSHSA Executive Council under the stewardship of His Excellency President Ismaila Jobarteh with partners began at the Brikama Campus and would end on 11thJune 2022.
This year’s SoSHSA Week on the theme: ‘Building peace and promoting vibrant youthful sector by combating drug use and trafficking through advocacy and social means’, is characterised by a range of interesting activities.
The activities range from opening speeches, a panel discussion, networking, community outreach, sport, research, culture and pageantry for male and female categories.
Representatives of the UTG management, President of University of the Gambia Students’ Union, guests, Social Sciences and Humanities students graced the opening, among others.
A panel discussion on the subject ‘THE SoSHSA WE WANT’ followed the opening ceremony during which students raised pertinent issues affecting their pursuit of studies to concerned authorities who assured them of solutions.
The other activities such as networking, community outreach in Sibanor and Bintang villages in the Fonis, sport, research, culture and pageantry for male and female categories for the 6-day event would take place from the 7th-11 June 2022.
