Works Minister Concludes 5-day Familiarisation Tour Of Government Projects

The Minister of Works, Transport, and Infrastructure concluded his 5-day familiarisation tour of ongoing government projects nationwide.

Minister Sillah wrapped-up the visit with his entourage at the Jambur road on Saturday.

Anthony Keita, senior operations and safety manager said the Jambur road is part of their 2021 to 2022 road maintenance programmes which is a 5.2km road they are rehabilitating because they want to have standard roads everywhere in the country.

Toney Elhajie, contractor, assured the minister that the road will be completed in a month; but added that some mechanical challenges delayed their work.

In his overview remarks, the Honourable Minister thanked the local leaders for their cooperation and expressed happiness with some progress registered at the various project sites across the country.

However, he confessed they are not happy in some parts of the area with their work progress because less than 50% which needs some improvements to the target.

“We are not going to take things lightly with any contractors because we need quality and stand roads at any cost,” he said.

Minister Sillah wrapped up the 5 days familiarisation on Saturday. The tour enabled him to get first-hand information on the ongoing government projects across the country.
