Citing security reasons, the Gambia Police Force have turned down Ebrima Dibba’s application for a permit to protest today at Westfield from 10.00am to 3.00 pm against the rejection of Momodou Sabally’s candidature.

The information was conveyed in a letter to Ebrima Dibba, the United Democratic Party (UDP) member.

“Accordingly, this office writes to inform you that your request is not granted due to security reasons. Your cooperation and understanding in this regard is highly solicited,” the police told Mr. Dibba.

Last week, Mr Ebrima Dibba of the United Democratic Party (UDP) applied for a permit to protest against the Independent Electoral Commission’s rejection of Momodou Sabally’s nomination as UDP candidate for the Busumbala constituency for the 9th April parliamentary election.
