2021 Presidential Election: Dr. Jagne Says Gambians Didn’t Vote With Their Minds

The former Secretary General and Leader of All People’s Party, (APP) Dr. Bai Biran Jagne said Gambians voted with their hands, not with their minds in the 2022 Presidential Election.
“Today is a culmination of a prelude to our December move. When I endorsed the PDOIS presidential candidate together with APP executive members. We did the same thing in the parliamentary election, and Alhamdulillah, I cannot emphasise how grateful I am to gain experience working with PDOIS and what they stand for.
“There was no question in my mind at the time that we are the winners. Yes, the people have envisaged, but they didn’t vote with their minds. They voted with their hands. We all know what that means. Today, I am here to announce my total submission and registration into the party of PDOIS. I have submitted my resignation as Secretary General and leader of APP without remorse,” Dr. said on Saturday.
Dr. Jagne further stated that PDOIS is a party he “really admire’ more than any other party in the country, because of what they stand for and who they are.
He belief that anyone who joins PDOIS has the same feelings that the country is more important than himself without any doubt; and that PDOIS people sacrifice, they don’t go out for money, they do what is right for the country.
“We have to change this country, there is no way this country can progress the way it is going. The last 57 years, the governments, none of them has an agenda like PDOIS’s,” Dr. Jagne said.
Speaking about his decision to resign from APP and joined PDOIS, Dr. Jagne said it is something that has been coming for the past 40 years.
“This is a big milestone and something that has been in the making for the past 40 years, long before I leave this country in the 70s. PDOIS is the party without any doubt the only solution to this country,” he said.
Dr. Jagne said the past 57 years, of post Gambia independence is actually going backwards.
He said the country has a lot to thank PDOIS for, and that a lot of people in this country are aware what government is, because PDOIS has been persistent in educating the masses.
Dr. Jagne made these remarks on Saturday at a PDOIS Conference at its Secretariat in Churchill’s Town, Serekunda.
